54 imagesHi Rashelle. The images here only display at 700 pixels on the longest side. Any you download will be 1000 pixels on the longest side. And downloaded pics won't have the "dusty dingo photography" watermark either :) These are just a small selection of the hundreds of pics I have of the interior of the hotel, but they best illustrate the things we talked about. To download any pics, just "add to lightbox", then you can download them directly from your lightbox. cheers, Sheldon

6 imagesThe saga of non-action towards saving the Guildford Hotel has gone on for years now. Despite their own engineering advice that the hotel wouldn't need a roof "for a couple of years", and despite two lots of "a couple of years" having passed, the owners still have not contributed one cent towards roofing the site to prevent further damage. So, some enterprising residents of Guildford have called in a few favours from overseas friends/relatives, and supportive banners have begun appearing in a number of international locales . . .

92 imagesOn February 2, 2013, several hundred people gathered under the shade of Guildford's iconic Sugar Gums to protest the imminent loss of Guildford's iconic Guildford Hotel. The crowd heard all sorts of stirring speeches about what could/might happen, what should have happened, and who was to blame for what hasn't happened, but in the absence of the owners' presence it was hard to see it as anything more than preaching to the choir. Yes, new legislation will be written, maybe it will be passed, and good luck to those in the future who benefit. But for the situation with the Guildford Hotel, it is extremely difficult to see any change to the situation as it was one year ago . . . two years ago . . . three years ago . . . four years ago . . . When the Guildford Hotel lies in total ruin and is irretrievably lost, no amount of finger-pointing, hand-wringing and wailing of "we should have done more" from any one (especially those currently in a position where they COULD do more) will make one iota of difference. When it's gone, it's gone for good.
